Position: Operations Manager

Description:
Please note that the following list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and that you may be expected to perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities should the need arise.

  • Responsible for the successful operations of the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit
  • Operate a highly profitable circuit that follows the income budget in all departments
  • Operate all departments in full support of all the Dealer Group processes, procedures and policies
  • Stay within all budgets for controllable expenses and enforce the adherence of all policies and procedures that affect the expenses of the circuit
  • Plan the circuit’s operations of the coming year and report the plan to the President of the GAIN Dealer Group for approval
  • Coach and guide your team to target performance
  • Ensure that every department operates harmoniously and profitably
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all members and guests
  • Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape employees’ attitudes and build morale. Establish harmony and teamwork amongst all the departments
  • Resolve any customer complaints that any team members were not able to resolve
  • Follow the opening and closing procedures and assist GAIN in the absolute security of all buildings and merchandise during and after business hours (i.e. setting alarm, locking all entries, key security, unnecessary issuing of codes and keys to employees, etc)

Position: Concierge

Duties and Responsibilities (will include but are not limited to):

  • Welcome and greet all guests as they arrive at the Clubhouse in a friendly and inviting approach
  • Answer phones promptly and in a friendly and courteous manner at all times
  • Responsible for organizing the day’s events at the Circuit, member bookings
  • Assist in the preparations of corporate functions and on site events
  • Manage the inventory and visual merchandising of the Circuit boutique, while also being able to assist guests with purchases
  • May be required to move guest vehicles or the Circuit fleet if additional help required
  • Assist in various day to day responsibilities and operational requirements assigned by the Circuit Operations Manager
  • Assist in gathering and packaging information for guests should they wish to plan other activities outside of the Circuit and facilitate in bookings should that be required
  • Continual communication with other members of the team and members within GAIN
  • Act as onsite membership representative
  • First point of contact for room and facility bookings

Skills:

  • Ability to discover the needs of our guests and foster relationships with our members to ensure their needs are met
  • Possesses an outgoing personality while always maintaining a calm and friendly composure
  • Extremely reliable and adaptable to changing processes, programs and various other tasks
  • Experience in driving vehicles with manual transmission is an asset
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Guest experience or customer service experience is required
  • A criminal record check and driver’s abstract report will be required upon hire

Position: Driving Instructor

Duties and Responsibilities (will include but are not limited to):

  • Welcome and greet all guests as they arrive at the Clubhouse in a friendly and inviting approach
  • Meet with each driver prior to the start of their driving day to address any questions or coaching requirements they may wish to seek
  • Adhere to the training schedules, coaching outlines and processes established by the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit
  • Analyze client driving behavior and recognize positive skills and opportunities to improve other skills through specific techniques to practice between training sessions
  • Provided client feedback through post training briefings and review available data
  • Communicate progress of members with other instructors/coaches to ensure all Circuit team is on the same page in the event should not be available
  • Perform operator’s basic vehicle inspection prior to the start of each driving day to ensure vehicle is safe and track ready
