With over 2 decades of experience and thousands of hours helicopter time plus 14 books and 5 videos to his credit, Russ Heinl is recognized as one of Canada’s foremost aerial photographers. His love of aviation, photography and adventure has taken him over virtually every corner of Canada and Alaska as well as over America and Europe. He is also passionate about automotive photography, particularly of European sports cars. Having owned and rallied more then his fair share of Jaguars, Porsches and a BMW. His one automotive book “Resurrection” follows the restoration of a 1955 Mercedes Benz 300 SL. The 21st car of 29 aluminum Gullwing Coupes, missing for 40 years and now found. The photographic essay took over 2 years to complete and begins with the Gullwing’s discovery in southern California and meticulously details every step of the remarkable restoration by famous automotive restorer Rudi Koniczek of Rudi & Company.
