The GAIN Group is proud to be Vancouver Island’s Premier Dealer Group and with brands such as Alfa Romeo, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Villa Eyrie Resort and Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit, we are a diverse company that is constantly growing. We would not be where we are today without our customers, clients and staff – and we feel a duty to give back to the communities and organizations that serve not just as the home for our businesses, but also as home to our over 400 staff and thousands of customers and clients.
The GAIN Group and the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit are proud to host the 5th annual Vancouver Island Motor Gathering, an annual charity car show that donates 100% of money raised to charities and where all expenses incurred for the event are covered by GAIN. GAIN’s first year hosting the Motor Gathering in 2013 concluded with over $52,000 raised. The second year in 2014 increased to over $75,000 in cash donations and over $200,000 in in-kind sponsorships. In 2015, with the continued support of many sponsors and the local community, over $118,000 was raised in cash donations with over $200,000 in in-kind donations. In 2016, the first year hosted at the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit, we raised over $153,000 for the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation and the David Foster Foundation, and this year we’re aiming even higher.
Established in 1984, the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation is a registered charity with the mission to raise funds for the purchase of equipment and to actively support patient and resident care at Cowichan District Hospital and Cairnsmore Place. In 2010 they established their New Hospital Building Fund, with a goal to replace the current Hospital, which opened in 1967. With 50 years of community growth and higher demand for health care services, the hospital facility is in need of replacement.
The David Foster Foundation is dedicated to providing financial support for non-medical expenses to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants. They work with transplant teams across Canada to provide support for children once they are listed for pediatric transplant to post-operative checkup. Their staff provide guidance and assistance as the families go through the processes involved in their child’s transplant and medical care.
The 2017 Vancouver Island Motor Gathering is taking place on Sunday August 27th, 2017 at the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit. With an expected 1,000 show vehicles, 10,000 spectators and over 100 sponsors, this is a Charity Car Show that will not disappoint.
