Rudiger Gunter von Koniczek and his team at Rudi and Company need very little introduction. They are not only a staple in the world of ultra-high-end restorations, but also the go-to team in this field, as many of their “automotive art” vehicles reside in garages and private collections in every continent in the world.
At Rudi & Company, the team represents over 150 years of combined experience in restoring Mercedes 300SL models, and other fine automobiles. Their restorations are completed from beginning to end here in Victoria, British Columbia. Restorations performed have received accolades and the highest awards whenever they are shown, including Forest Grove, Pebble Beach, Quail, Kirkland, Amelia Island, and 300SL National Conventions to name a few.
Rudi moved to Canada with his family in the fifties. He started collecting Dinky Toy cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He then began to collect scale models and as soon as he could reach the pedals, he started to race at the Mosport International Raceway in Ontario. His love of automobiles led him to train as a mechanic with Mercedes-Benz in Toronto. A trip out west to Victoria, BC in 1968 inspired his move to Vancouver Island. He has lived here and worked on 300SL and numerous other pre- and post-war vehicles ever since. In his spare time, he reads, cooks, travels, and rides motorcycles with his friends and beautiful wife Patricia.
Rudi & Company has been a great partner to the GAIN Dealer Group for more than 20 years and has supported our dealerships countless times with special vehicle displays and team building seminars held at their facilities.
Partners in crime along with Rudi and Patricia are Tommy Munro, Tom Steger, David Hargraves, Ross Morrison, Mark Root, Chris Burrows, and Eric Cherneff. They will all be our support staff, along with additional special guests Sarah and Sophia Koniczek, and Sharlet and Sonny Strandland.
