Along with the Formula One, it was the races with Shelby Cobras, Ferraris, GT 40s and Porsches that captured the imagination of the fans. The orange and blue cars of the Gulf Racing Team and the iconic Gulf Porsche 917 are still alive! Steve McQueen, enthusiastic “motorhead” and hobby race car driver paid tribute to those cars and drivers with his film Le Mans in 1970. The DNA of the GPO drive styles is red and blue, like the legendary stripes on the racing suits of the times.
