On June 30th, Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit hosted our first ever bicycle race as part of the annual Future Champions Cycling Camp hosted on Vancouver Island this year. The Future Champion Camps provide opportunities for motivated young cyclists to gain knowledge and inspiration from qualified coaches, elite cyclists, and their peers. National Coach Nigel Ellsay inspected the track prior to the event taking place back in March and noted “On the racetrack, riders will be able to drive on and over the climb, then attack its twisty descent. The racetrack contains features we see riders encountering in Europe, so the course will make for great practice runs in a home environment.” The event was a great success and we look forward to hosting this race again next year.
