We are thrilled to welcome Evan Hamilton as the newest instructor to join our team at Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit.

Evan’s automotive journey began back in high school where his passion for all things automotive started to grow. He spent most of his spare time in and around automotive shops so when graduation came, the natural direction was to pursue a degree as a mechanic in his post secondary ventures. So off to Camosun he went.

It was at Camosun where Evan’s motorsport career really began. Prior to Camosun, most of his early automotive passions lied with off-roading his Toyota pick-up at remote camping sites. However, after witnessing a fellow student completely stripping a E30 BMW to use solely for auto cross, his gears shifted. After accompanying his friend to an auto cross event, Evan was absolutely hooked!

Evan ended up buying his own E30 and attended every auto cross he could fit in that first year. He also joined the GAIN group that year, taking a position at Three Point Motors in Victoria. In Evan’s first year in auto cross, he ended up taking a position with the local motorsports club as the competition director as well.

After two years of auto cross, Evan quickly elevated his skills from beginner to respectable contender and decided to take up racing. He and a few friends started a racing team to enter in grass roots endurance races in the US. They purchased an E36 in the Fall of 2015 and started preparing it for racing the following Spring. Over the next four years they ended up with podiums on a third of the races they entered, including multiple wins at track all over the Pacific Northwest and a third-place finish at the famed Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.

During Evan’s racing career, he also had the opportunity to work at Porsche Centre Victoria where he met so many great people and learned more about performance driving as well as industry leading customer satisfaction from Porsche’s world class training. Evan was an integral part of the Porsche Centre Victoria team, especially organizing driving events with Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit and helping to the dealership achieve Premier Dealer status for 2021.

While Evan has enjoyed his time at Porsche Victoria, he is excited to bring his passion, experience, and knowledge of motorsport to Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit and we are thrilled to have him!
