The update this week starts with a big thank you to Chris Erb and his team at SupErb Construction. Chris is a hands-on owner who arrives at the site every day before 6 am and works until evening. He is the engine that drives this construction project forward, and his determination over the past 12 months is a clear demonstration of how much he has been pushing. Chris, please accept our most sincere gratitude for all you do.
We started the week with a film and drone day on Sunday to prepare our next teaser and a presentation video for the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto. Cindy Mui and her team in marketing along with Nik Green and his team from Zooropa Media spent a sunny day last week creating images and video footage for upcoming videos, and we look forward to seeing the results within a week.
VIMC-Update-Feb92016On the construction side, the biggest visual change is the completion of the working lane. This ‪300 meter long lane outside the pit garages has a road surface made entirely out of concrete.
Outside, progress continues with grading and landscaping, as well as with the parking lots, entrance, and driveways. In the clubhouse, the clubroom and training rooms have been painted and installation of the suspended ceiling is underway. And with the tile layers busy installing floor tiles, the upstairs is getting closer to completion.
Downstairs, the best way to describe the week is “determined progress in all trades.” Flooring, electrical, plumbing, data, equipment, ceilings, as well as glass and doors, are all getting closer and closer to the finish line. A big “thank you” to all the trades and sub-trades for their efforts.
VIMC-Update-Feb112016But as excited as all of us are about the progress being made here at the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit, even more thrilling is the reaction from people all over Canada and the U.S. Our new website has received a tremendous response and the interest in memberships is unbelievable!
Taking our dream another big step closer to reality, we are extremely pleased to announce that we have booked our first corporate event. This Spring, the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit will be home for 18 super sports cars that will be tested and driven by dealers, journalists, and clients for more than three weeks. We can’t wait to hear them roar!
Until next week, stay curious.
