DISCOVER THE CIRCUIT
Since doors officially opened on June 6, 2016, Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit remains Canada’s only year-round motorsport facility and one of North America’s most engaging and challenging circuits. This aerial view highlights the 50+ acre land that houses the impressive circuit, the state-of-the-art clubhouse, the off-road logging course, the extensive parking lot and paved dynamic zone.
With 19 corners and 85 metres of elevation change, this 2.3 km circuit offers a vibrant and technically challenging course for both novice and experienced drivers alike.
Parker Thompson, one of Canada’s top rising race car driver, and guest pro coaching instructor at VIMC recently shared,“The layout and design at Vancouver Island Motor Circuit is one of the most challenging courses I have ever put wheels on. Not only does it challenge a driver through the elevation and topography, but it’s unique Tilke design features unorthodox corner entry angles that can be seen at world renowned circuits like Circuit of the Americas and Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. When you combine these two factors along with VIMC’s relative short distance in comparison, you get a track that challenges even the most senior driving professionals. I find myself learning a new trick every time I have the pleasure of visiting the Island and piloting a car around the gorgeous 2.3km circuit!”
