Valentine’s Day is also known as National Donor Day.
The David Foster Foundation has partnered up with WestJet for a touching video in celebration of #HeartMonth which also coincides with Valentine’s Day. The David Foster Foundation feels, incredibly fortunate to have the support of WestJet and to be one of their WestJet Cares for Kids charitable partners. Many of these families are removed from their communities and support systems to be by their child’s side and in the hospital as they wait for a life-saving organ transplant. Their partnership with WestJet allows them to keep these families together through the gift of flight.
This touching story highlights relevant conversations about organ donation and taking the time to register. Alyssa Clarke, a 16-year old heart transplant recipient and a family who the foundation assisted, is featured in this special video summarizing her life, post-transplant. It illustrates what she faced during her life-saving heart transplant journey and the people that were there for her.
The Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit and the GAIN Group, are also proud supporters and partners with the David Foster Foundation. Our organization understands how important it is to bring families into a safe and supportive place while their children are being treated at hospitals far from their homes—a typical challenge that faces Vancouver Island families.
The Circuit is inspired to continue our support with the David Foster Foundation and for these families in need by hosting the next Vancouver Island Motor Gathering and other partnerships throughout the year.
Together, we hope we can make one small change to make a bigger heartfelt difference!
#HeartMonth.
