The annual Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live Vancouver Island took place this past Sunday, May 28th. Riders met downtown Victoria at The Local for registration and breakfast, before making their way through Victoria and onto the Malahat for a beautiful sunny drive to the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit. Once at the Circuit, riders were greeted with sponsor vendors and music.

The line of Giulia’s on the road set an emotional scene of romance for this North American rebooted brand. Both courses showcased this hot-blooded Italian car with luxury touring comfort while giving us the sports performance that is part of the Alfa Romeo genome.
With the abnormally cold winter now behind us, we’re already starting to see a few glimpses of Spring. As the sun peaked through periodically in today’s warm 12 degree weather, our circuit guests enjoyed an incredible experience with our newly established Circuit Taxi program.
To us, the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit is one of the most unique motorsport facilities in the country, if not North America, but what makes it even more special is hearing all the wonderful feedback and comments from our members and their guests regarding how the Circuit makes them feel and what it means to them.
Vancouver Island is known for its super mild winters but this year, it was the longest and coldest winter the island has seen in the last 40 years. But while most on the island may have dreaded the cold, we embraced it by offering winter driving programs, defensive driving in icy conditions, tire comparison educational series and community sponsorships.
After 5 long months of one of the driest spring and summer’s of record on Vancouver Island, we have grass!

While the Coquihalla Highway from Vancouver to the interior of British Columbia and the connector between Merritt and Penticton are expecting up to 30 cm of snow tonight, the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit is in full speed with our Saturday Members Day in the eye of the storm and at 12 degrees Celsius.
